Keira knightley

Keira Knightley is the beautiful twenty-three year old British actress whose meteoric rise to fame in such films as Bend It Like Beckham and Pirates Of The Caribbean continues apace in the recent Pride and Prejudice remake and this summer's The Edge of Love.
Keira Christina Knightley was born to Will Knightley (also an actor) and Sharman MacDonald (actor-turned-playwright) on the 26th of March, 1985.
She first asked her parents for an agent at the tender age of three, but they refused, not wanting their daughter to follow them onto the stage. Keira kept at them, and they finally gave in when she was six. However, her parents still had a few tricks up their sleeves. As part of the deal, Keira, who is dyslexic, had to study through the school holidays, and she was only permitted to work on productions if they didn't interfere with her education.
In 1994, at the age of nine, she completed her first movie, starring as Natasha Jordan in Moira Armstrong's 'A Village Affair'. Following this, she played a number of small roles in other productions.
Her first high profile role came in 1999, when she played the part of Sabe, the decoy queen in Star Wars Episode I. Her part in the film was kept secret in the lead up to the much anticipated release, and Natalie Portman was promoted as having played the roles of both the real and decoy queens so as not to spoil the surprise. A lot of fans still think Portman played both roles.
Since then, she has completed an impressive array of films, including the made-for-TV movie 'Princess of Thieves', the series 'Oliver Twist', and the thriller 'The Hole'. She also played a small role in 'Deflation'.
Keira's 'breakthrough' role came with Gurinder Chadha's 'Bend It Like Beckham', which was an unexpected hit worldwide. In order to play the part, she endured 20 weeks of tough football practice - her coach, who had trained top players, declared her more naturally talented than Michael Owen.
With the success of Bend It Like Beckham came a flurry of roles. She stepped into Julie Christie's shoes for the controversial remake of the classic 'Dr. Zhivago', played Louise in 'Pure', and filmed 'Love, Actually' alongside Liam Neeson and Hugh Grant.
Soon after, Disney snapped her up to fill the corset of Elizabeth Swann in the summer box office hit 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Keira's latest role sees her breathe life into King Arthur's Guinevere in the July 2004 release of the same name.
The good news for Keira's fans is that her roles just keep getting bigger and bigger, and her star brighter and brighter. Rest assured that we will be seeing a lot more of Keira in the future.
Arjan Bajwa’s passion for cars

Fashion star Arjan Bajwa didn’t mind sacrificing his Sunday morning sleep to zoom off to the venue at the recently concluded Parx Super Car show held at Kala Ghoda.
His passion for the luxury car was well evident as he didn’t have the time to watch the pretty ladies at the show but gave a skip to them for a day and was glued to the finest of the luxury and sports cars like AMG, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes Porsche and Rolls Royce ready to take a ride of Mumbai city.
A red Ferrari is what attracted him the most. Despite the fact that he doesn’t own one but the desire was evident in his gleaming eyes. Bajwa told us, “My whole point of coming here was that it is a good platform to know and understand the mechanics of cars. The cars displayed at the show have a low ground clearance so it will be interesting to know how so the cars perform on Mumbai roads at higher speeds.”
Also he said that the show was a good sign of a celebration of a different kind. He added, “Personally, I am here to learn the mechanics and the technicalities of the cars present.”

Costarella celebrates return to Australian Fashion Week

Sometimes it takes success overseas to make the Australian fashion scene take notice.
That is how Perth-based fashion designer Ray Costarella feels, after attracting a celebrity-laden audience to his first Rosemount Australian Fashion Week show in three years.
In recent times Costarella has chosen to show during New York Fashion Week instead of doing big parades in his home country. But with the current financial climate making such a trip a tad more pricey than usual, he chose to stay closer to home and today produced a high class parade at Sydney's Circular Quay.
His show attracted pop star Jessica Mauboy, actress Simmone Jade McKinnon and more with others including actress Jodie Gordon and designer Terry Biviano set to celebrate at Costarella's private after-party tonight.
"It was just the right time for us to do this here because our profile here at the moment is bigger than it has ever been," Costarella said.
"The demand we have been getting from celebrities and retailers has been overwhelming.
"While we have been showing in New York we have been growing our brand in Australia. You do have to leave Australia, to make it elsewhere before you are accepted in your own backyard."
Overwhelmed by the reception following the show where guests were invited to mingle with models wearing the latest designs, Costarella said he had looked within for inspiration for this collection.
"Rather than looking for external inspiration, this season I really have gone within," he said.
"It's much more about who I am as a designer and where I have come from and where I am going."
The collection of 30 outfits comprised both show-stopping couture pieces which were highly embellished with beading alongside ready-to-wear items in colours including burnt orange, alabaster, honey and bronze.
The summer 09/10 collection featured lots of heavy metal bead work and eight high profile Perth models including Emily Cattermole, Courtney Chircop and Pip Bingham wearing ostrich feathers in their hair. The look was exotic, feminine and sexy with sky-high hems a departure from Costarella's often flowing floor-length gowns.
Tonight Costarella has invited celebrities and fashion identities to celebrate at a new champagne lounge in Sydney tonight.
He will bring the collection home to Perth where it will go one sale soon.
