Yeh Saali Zindagi: Review by Rummana Ahmed

Yeh Saali Zindagi: Review by Rummana Ahmed

Sudhir Mishra's 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' is an interesting take on how matters of the heart see no reason and no matter how rational you try to be, when in love the best of us behave like fools. Despite being an original concept, the execution suffers on account of its length and the treatment of the sub-plots.

Yeh Saali Zindagi (YSZ), apart from everything else, is like a memory game. Remembering characters, their individual plots, their idiosyncratic manners etc. Borrowed from many Hollywood gangster movies, YSZ introduces us to around 120 characters (mostly sidekicks who show up for a scene and disappear) which at first gets a bit overwhelming. But eventually, you resign yourself to the ones that matter and it gets comfortable.
